Curly Maple is not a distinct Species. Curly Maple is a description of the distinct figure that is found in most if the Acer (Maple) species.
The hardness range is between 700 - 1450 lbs on the Jenka scale depending on the species of Maple you are working with.
Supply can be limited and quality in figure will vary from log to log. We typically will skip plane the boards to 1” to reveal the figure on the board for our customer to see better what they are purchasing.
