Sawmill Service
We typically saw at our location at 684 Tramway Rd Dresden ON.
However, there are times when we will bring the sawmill to your location.
The Sawmill:
Our Wood-Mizer LT-50 is one of the highest quality portable sawmills on the market today. With good quality logs the sawmill will produce quality lumber with accurate and repeatable cuts.
Wood-Mizer is the benchmark when it comes to the bandsaw milling. They are known for their accuracy and quality of cut
Our Wood-Mizer Sawmill is rated to cut 21’ long and a 36” diameter log (log needs to be very straight to achieve a 36” diameter cut, 33” is often more realistic) with a 28” crosscut capacity.
Sawmilling Rates:
The rate we charge to saw lumber will be determined by the type of job we are asked to do. There are many factors that will determine the rate that is charged.
What will the rate include:
1 Sawmill Operator
The high production Wood-Mizer LT-50 Sawmill
Freshly sharpened or new Blade to start the job.
Diesel fuel, Oil, grease, and cutting lube needed for the job.
If sawn at our location we will provide all log / lumber handling equipment. If sawing at customers location it will be expected the customer will have equipment available to handle the logs and lumber.
Additional Charges:
Each blade change under normal ware will be charged out at $15.00. If the blade has hit metal and needs to be changed a charge of $35.00 will be applied each time.
Sawmill Assistant:
I try to always have a Sawmill Assistant when I saw however at times I will be sawing alone. If we are sawing by the hour obviously the rate will be lower if I am sawing alone.
Things that effect the Sawmill Rates:
Conditions of logs: If the logs are clean and straight the rate to saw them will be much less then logs that are not trimmed properly are dirty and not straight.
Size of Logs: If the logs are a good size, it is often less expensive than sawing a lot of small logs, or oversized logs or logs that are less then 6 feet or over 16 feet long.
Type of wood we are sawing and how it is sawn has an impact on the rate that is charged.
Proper log handling equipment and a qualified operator to keep logs to the mill so there are no delays.
An appropriate amount of room to set the saw up and stage the logs.
Distance of travel and the number of setups and take downs of the saw that is needed.
These are just some of the things that will affect the rate for sawing your logs into lumber.
We can float your logs from your location to our Sawmill
If you have logs but no way to get them to our Sawmill contact us we may be able to help.
We have a 24’ trailer that can haul approx. 1000 board feet of logs.

If you do not have a way to load the logs I can bring my tractor and loader out to your location, the charge for this is $250.00 per day within a range of 50 km. If over 50 km call for price.
