Sawmill Service
We typically saw at our location at 684 Tramway Rd Dresden ON.
However, there are times when we will bring the sawmill to your location.
The Sawmill:
Our Wood-Mizer LT-50 is one of the highest quality portable sawmills on the market today. With good quality logs the sawmill will produce quality lumber with accurate and repeatable cuts.
Wood-Mizer is the benchmark when it comes to the bandsaw milling. They are known for their accuracy and quality of cut
Our Wood-Mizer Sawmill is rated to cut 21’ long and a 36” diameter log (log needs to be very straight to achieve a 36” diameter cut, 33” is often more realistic) with a 28” crosscut capacity.
Sawmilling Rates:
The rate we charge is directly related to the investment we have in the quality and productivity of the saw we operate. We have a simple pricing structure.
Our Location:
We charge $110.00 / hr for the LT-50 Wood-Mizer sawmill and Sawmill Operator. Or $150.00 for the LT-50 Wood-Mizer sawmill a Sawmill Operator and a Sawmill Assistant to saw at our location.
Remote Sawing:
We do at times bring the saw out to customers location if the job fits our schedule and criteria.
For remote sawing jobs we charge by the hour from the time we leave our shop in the morning to the time we return to the shop. $135.00 / hr for the LT-50 Wood-Mizer Sawmill and a Sawmill Operator. This time will include to the job site travel time, milage, saw setup, basic maintenance such as greasing, fuelling, changings blades and minor trouble shooting if needed. Sawing, and taking down the saw, packing up and return travel time and milage.
If we require a Sawmill assistant for the job. You will need to add $40.00 to the hourly rate above.
We charge a 4 hour minimum for bringing the saw to a customers site.
What will the rate include:
1 Sawmill Operator
The high production Wood-Mizer LT-50 Sawmill
Freshly sharpened or new Blade to start the job and as needed, as blades dull through out the job.
Diesel fuel, Oil, grease, and cutting lube needed for the job.
If sawn at our location we will provide all log / lumber handling equipment.
If sawing at customers location it will be expected the customer will have equipment available to handle the logs and lumber. As well as enough help to off load the saw and deliver logs to the saw in an effective and efficient manner. The Remote Fee includes the sawmill and a Sawmill Operator.
Additional Charges:
Each time we hit metal in your logs that force a blade change there will be a $40.00 charge.
Site visit:
I will try to make site visits to people that have committed to having us saw for them. This visit will include. Site layout suggestions, a review of the logs that are to be sawn, review of access and egress from the site and a review and signing of the Sawmilling Agreement.
And remember:
Quality logs make quality lumber. Poor quality logs often make poor quality lumber.
We can float your logs from your location to our Sawmill
If you have logs but no way to get them to our Sawmill contact us we may be able to help.
We have a 24’ trailer that can haul approx. 1000 board feet of logs.
We charge $0.25 per board foot in the log (within a range of 50 km if over call for price) or a min of $150.00 if the board footage does not meet this threshold.
If you do not have a way to load the logs I can bring my tractor and loader out to your location, the charge for this is $250.00 per day within a range of 50 km. If over 50 km call for price.
Payment
Payment will be due before the lumber leaves our sawmill or if sawing remotely before the saw leaves your location. Cash, credit, debit, e-transfer can be accepted as payment means also in some cases cheques will be accepted.
