The rate to saw at our location is $110.00 per hour for 1 Sawmill Operator and the Wood Mizer LT-50. If more help is needed $35.00 / hr. / man will be added to the invoice.
The Sawmill:
Not all sawmills are created equal. When you are looking for a sawmill to cut your lumber be sure to enquire about the sawmill they are operating. The hourly rate people quote you, might sound good but if they pull in with a manual mill or a smaller hydraulic mill the time it will take to produce the same lumber we can will be considerably longer.
Our Wood-Mizer LT-50 is one of the highest production portable sawmills on the market today. It will produce twice as much lumber then a manual mill in the same time and approx. 40% more then many other hydraulic sawmills.
That “cheap” hourly rate can quickly turn into a high cost per board foot if they don’t have a high production sawmill.
Wood-Mizer is the benchmark when it comes to the bandsaw milling. They are known for there accuracy and quality of cut
Our Wood-Mizer Sawmill is rated to cut 21’ long and a 36” diameter log (log needs to be very straight to achieve a 36” diameter cut, 33” is often more realistic) with a 28” cross cut capacity.
Sawmilling Rates:
We charge by the hour. Our rate is $110.00 / hour to saw at our location.
This rate includes:
1 Sawmill Operator
The high production Wood-Mizer LT-50 Sawmill
Blades used to saw the logs under normal operation
Diesel fuel, Oil, grease, and cutting lube needed for the job.
Loader tractor to unload and move the logs in a fast and efficient way.
Additional Charges if needed.
Extra man if needed = $35.00 / hr. / man
Having and extra person to off load the lumber speeds up the job and is well worth the extra $35.00 per hour. However it will be up to the saw operator to determine if extra help will be used for the job. (the shear weight of the lumber cut sometimes demands the need for 1 or 2 extra men to help off load the saw).
If Blades hit foreign material in the log or if the logs are excessively dirty and force blade changes prematurely a charge of $35.00 per blade will be added to the invoice.
We can float your logs from your location to our Sawmill
If you have logs but no way to get them to our Sawmill contact us we may be able to help.
We have a 24’ trailer that can haul approx. 1000 board feet of logs.
We charge $0.25 per board foot in the log (within a range of 50 km if over call for price).
If you do not have a way to load the logs I can bring my tractor and loader out to your location, the charge for this is $250.00 per day within a range of 50 km. If over 50 km call for price.
Payment
Payment will be due before the lumber leaves our sawmill. Cash, credit, debit, e-transfer can be accepted as payment means also in some cases cheques will be accepted. .
